Filmmaking does not end with a finished film. Every production generates images, sound, sets, costumes, locations, ideas and an enormous amount of creative labour.
The Sustainers Film Festival holds that none of this is single-use. Alongside making room for new films, it returns to circulation the work that deserves to meet an audience again, and sets out to connect unfinished projects, unused footage and leftover production materials with new work.
Nothing in cinema is single-use.

At the Sustainers Film Festival, the story begins again. The red carpet, the sealed auditorium and the single-use material give way to nature, open air and zero waste. The same love of cinema continues as an entirely different experience. And whatever the screening leaves behind is not wasted — it becomes soil, and then a sapling.

Sustainable Development Goals
These eight goals are not a badge added to the festival poster after the fact; they are the logic the programme is built on. Within a framework that runs from quality education to climate action, from reduced inequalities to responsible production, we place cinema alongside nature, build awareness through storytelling, and bring artist and audience into the same experience. Sustainability is not a destination for us — it is the answer to how this festival was put together.
